365 Firsts/Day 323: GIVEDIRECTLY. This is Givewell.org's second ranked charity. Nearly all of the money goes directly to the extreme poor of Uganda and Kenya. Just to sort of clear the air, I've been criticized a few times for mainly donating to people in extremely poor countries instead of America. Simply put, that's for two reasons. Reason 1, I've already donated to a lot of places in the U.S., so, it wouldn't be a "first" for me if I've already done it. 2nd, I don't see the problem with donating hard earned money to people who are dying from drinking disease filled water.
